PA6 - AKULON 6

PA6 is a semicrystalline polymer with good overall characteristics and an excellent performance-to-cost ratio. Extruded PA6 exhibits high technical properties that make it suitable for various mechanical applications where dimensional tolerances are not overly strict, considering its moisture absorption content, which should not be underestimated. Its good wear and tensile strength make it ideal for applications that require high fatigue resistance. Extruded nylon is complementary to polymerized nylon, whose production method allows for large pieces to be obtained.

Abrasion resistance, even in dusty or heavy-duty environments.
Good impact resistance, positively influenced by the high moisture absorption content.
Fatigue resistance: maintains its characteristics even under repeated stress.
Chemical resistance: the material is resistant to various chemicals such as oils, grease, and solvents.
Aging and weathering resistance, especially for black polyamides.
Antistatic behavior linked to moisture absorption.

Hygroscopicity: PA6 can absorb atmospheric moisture, which can lead to an increase in dimensions and mechanical properties when exposed to humidity.
The notable elasticity of the chips requires special attention during mechanical processing.
