An international corporate group with the heart of a family business

The Bell Safety Group is a family-owned industrial company with a modern management model and an international distribution net. The Group operates on a philosophy of reliability, competence and innovation, and consists of four companies covering the entire plastics processing chain. It is widely recognized as a primary technological mediator through its products and processes.

In 2021, the Group made its latest acquisition, incorporating PLASTICI INDUSTRIALI, a benchmark in the field of Italian engineering stock shapes.

The parent company, Omnia Plastica, is based in Italy and has offices in Busto Arsizio (Varese), Cinisello Balsamo (Milan) and Parma.
The Group's first processing and distribution subsidiary, Industrial Plastics Europe, was established in Holland in 1972.
To gain a comprehensive overview of northern European markets, the Group established a subsidiary in the UK in 1997, known as Plastim. More recently, in 2013, the Group opened a new branch, Plastem, to handle distribution on the African continent.

TIMELINE

1950

Pierino Castiglioni founds Omnia Plastica SAS. The company's core business is focused on injection molding of technical articles.
1951

Pierino Castiglioni sas is officially registered and joins the Industrial Association of the province of Varese.
1954

The molding department is expanded with state-of-the-art presses.
1956

The technical office is strengthened to support customer customization needs.
1958

Inauguration of the extrusion process for technical semi-finished products. The first conditioning ovens are introduced to eliminate internal stresses in the product.
1959

Omnia Plastica diversifies its business by producing the first motorcycle helmet called "Paso" made of polycarbonate. This marks the beginning of production dedicated to finished molded products with anti-abrasion and anti-fog treatments with high technology.
1965

The first fire helmet made of polycarbonate is produced for the United States.
1972

Industrial Plastics Europe BV is established in Nieuwegein, Netherlands. The production facility, spanning over 4,500 square meters, is dedicated to the production of plastic semi-finished components and high technical products.
1978

Omnia Plastica invests in the anionic polymerization department of caprolactam, namely PAG casting.
1983

Plastici Industriali srl is established. The 2,500 square meter facility in Cinisello Balsamo is involved in the production and distribution of plastic semi-finished products, finished parts and components with high technical polymer materials.
1984

Omnia Plastica invests in hard coating treatments for molded polycarbonate parts with optical quality.
1985

The internationalization process continues with the establishment of Plastim Ltd. In the current 2,000 square meter production facility, thermoplastic components are produced for the United Kingdom and Ireland.
2000

Omnia Plastica joins Bieffe Holding Srl and acquires the division dedicated to public order products: anti-riot shields, body protection devices, protective helmets, batons, gas masks.
2001

Omnia Plastica acquires the motorcycle helmet brand and public order products from Bell, establishing Bell Motohelmets srl. Later, Motosport srl is founded in Lucca to produce, assemble, and distribute full-face and jet motorcycle helmets for both sports and leisure activities, as well as public order.
2008

Expansion in East Asia where, in partnership with one of the largest sports helmet manufacturing company, PT Vista Kusuma is established, dedicated to the production of visors and optical screens with anti-abrasion treatments.
2010

Compositi Industriali srl, dedicated to the production of composite fiber products, is incorporated into Motosport srl.
2013

PLASTEM (Pyt) LTD is established in Johannesburg, South Africa. This rapidly developing company is making its mark in the mining sector, packaging industry, and chemical sector by offering a wide range of semi-finished products and related services.
2016

The anionic polymerization department is rebuilt and restarted after the heavy fire in 2013. The department, which was completely destroyed, is now the flagship of the group and equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and technologies.
2020

Merger by incorporation of Plastici Industriali srl.
2021

New headquarters in Parma, Via Veroni 24/A.
2023

To increase energy efficiency, the photovoltaic system at the Busto Arsizio production plant is renovated, contributing to its energy needs.
